Desert Blood Services – Working Together to Save Lives
Desert Blood Services is a collaboration between LifeStream and Community Blood Bank
announced in January 2012.
The agreement to combine the strengths of the respective organizations created an
efficient, complete community blood program, as reflected in its mission statement:
Partnering to inspire blood donors and the medical community to improve patient
care by being ambassadors for a plentiful blood supply and safe transfusion.
Desert Blood Services is the nonprofit blood service provider to the Coachella Valley
(Cathedral City, Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, Indian Wells, Indio, La Quinta,
Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, and numerous unincorporated communities)
and Hi-Desert (Blythe, Joshua Tree, Morongo Valley, Twentynine Palms, Yucca Valley,
and nearby unincorporated communities.)
Desert Blood Services provides blood products and services for:
- Desert Regional Medical Center, Palm Springs
- Eisenhower Medical Center, Rancho Mirage
- JFK Memorial Hospital, Indio
- Hi-Desert Medical Center, Joshua Tree
- Palo Verde Hospital, Blythe
- Robert E. Bush Naval Hospital, Twentynine Palms
Desert Blood Services is located in La Quinta, and conducts blood drives at schools,
churches, businesses, shopping centers, hospitals and government offices throughout
the area to ensure a safe, ample blood supply for the patients it serves.
